Once again I am writing this blog whilst co-working with start-ups and small businesses at Peterborough Jelly. It’s great to see some new faces at this event along with the very real collaborations coming from within the room as people cluster and work together on various projects. Speaking of co-working, we have welcomed three new people into our co-working space this week where we are providing a space for people who want to work for themselves, but not by themselves. It’s fair to say there is now a really nice buzz in our co-working space with many tenants working and supporting each other by feeding in, and validating, their ideas. For more information on our co-working space, click here. Or try co-working for free at the next Peterborough Jelly on Friday April 8th.
We also held our first collaborative lunch club at the Centre yesterday where tenants were invited to bring and share some food with others, providing the opportunity to socialise and interact with other people over lunch. Local Roots very kindly came along with pasta and fresh herbs that were grown in their hydroponics system located in our innovation lab on the ground floor for people to try. The feedback was very positive and we hope to announce another lunch club event in the not too distant future.
I am also pleased to welcome our newest tenant, Independence Dogs UK, who will be moving in on Monday and taking the last workshop unit we have available in the Centre (though we do still have some offices available!). Independence Dogs UK are a new social venture we are supporting who will be training assistance dogs for people with mental health issues. We (and other tenants) are certainly looking forward to seeing some of their wonderful dogs (pictured below) in the Centre over the coming weeks!
Stay tuned for some big announcements in the coming days about a new business support programme we are launching as well as a programme of exciting events and workshops. Next week we have a Mindfulness workshop which you can still signup for, and we have announced our next Expert Hour which will take place on March 30th on how to make the most of social media.
