I hope everyone has had a good, short, week this week. Once again it has been busy at Future Business Centre Peterborough. I have to offer a massive thanks to AnneMarie Gilbert from Grafixbiz who was our social media and marketing expert for this week’s Expert Hour. Such was the demand for AnneMarie’s knowledge, the Expert Hour turned into something closer to 3 hours!
The feedback has been very positive and we look forward to our upcoming sessions which will be on Employment Law (on April 13th) and Accounting (on April 27th). Click on the links for more information – everyone is welcome! I’ve also been interested to see what our tenants and external clients have been doing this week in our meeting and conference room spaces from seminars on “the future of making things” to training workshops on how to use PhotoShop.
Next week is going to be a busy one for us as I will be welcoming our new full-time Apprentice to the Future Business Centre on Monday who will be providing business administration support for the Centre and providing additional support for the reception team. I’m also welcoming back a student who recently completed a work experience placement for us to spend a week with us conducting a mini piece of research. It’s great that we are able to offer these opportunities to local students and young professionals as they embark on their careers in Peterborough.
We are hosting the “Stand Out on Social Media“ workshop on Thursday, which is a workshop for anyone who would like to know more about social media and how you can make the most from it. This will run from 09:30 – 11:00. Places are free but do sign up ASAP!
On Friday it’s the return of Peterborough Jelly – free co-working for professionals in Peterborough. Once again we’ll be providing free desk space, Wi-Fi, power, and coffee for anyone who would like to spend the day working from the Centre. It’s free and you can come along and work, collaborate, or a bit of both. Doors will be open from 10am but please do send an RSVP via Meetup.com.
Closing out the week, will be the Centre’s first Swish Clothes Swap for ladies who would like to swap clothes as well as have a drink and a chat.
Finally, Foundational Thinking are looking for UK-based charities, social enterprises and other organisations who have applied for, or received, funding from grant-making trusts and foundations to complete a short survey. If this is relevant to you, please can you complete the survey, it should take less than ten minutes and would be very much appreciated. Foundational Thinking is a Flip Finance project set up to explore the ways in which grant-making trusts and foundations can innovate and / or change to better serve the needs of the organisations they support and, ultimately, their mission.
Have a great weekend everyone!
